I grew up your typical farm girl. Chores of a morning and evening with late nights during the summer spent in the hay field. I was lucky enough to come from a family that knew Christ. Church on Sundays was normal. And of course vacation bible school! I loved Veggie Tales and still to this day have to pull out a good Veggie Tales movie! I gave my life to Christ in the summer of 2003. My family team ropes and rodeos. I went to rodeo Bible camp in the summer of 2003, and decided then I wanted to dedicate my life to Christ. January 2004, I was baptized. My Grandpa was a large part of that.
When I was young, I loved going to church every Sunday for Sunday school and worship service. And Wednesdays nights was youth group and Bible Drill. For those of you that know me, I am VERY competitive. So Bible Drill was my thing!! For those of you that haven't heard of Bible Drill, it is was a competition for youth and you were given verses to find in the bible, and the goal was to find it as fast you could and read aloud. I won 3rd place at state. Also helped me get over my fears of public speaking, which I ended up doing a lot of down the road. I remember state Bible Competition to this day. My church group had royal blue t-shirts with a road and road sign printed on them. And after competition that day, we went to Steak & Shake in Jeff, City. My first time EVER at a Steak & Shake. Talk about creating memories that last forever! I am now a senior in college and that experience happened in 6th grade. I loved my time at church and with the youth that I had become best friends with.

But then middle school came along- 7th and 8th grade for our school district. Middle school was a little rough for me, I lost my best friends, and honestly lost who I was a person. Things at home had become difficult and I just wasn't me anymore. I quit going to church on a regular basis. This is gonna sound weird to some, but middle school was the time where I went from wearing cowboy boots everyday to wearing tennis shoes. I was involved in 4-H and just threw myself into that. 2009 came around and at the end of my 8th grade year, I took the Missouri 4-H Equine Trip and we traveled to Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. While on the trip, we toured various equine related businesses. But my favorite stop was a cowboy church in Texas. That is where I reconnected. After I got back from the trip, I felt alive and like me again. I was wearing cowboy boots everyday, and back to church and riding my horses again. All I wanted to do was ride, which I had pretty much given up during middle school.Still to this day as a senior in college I try and dedicate every day to Jesus. I try and have a bible study at least once a week, and church on Sundays. And I am hoping to get back involved in church like I used to be when I am finished with college. I am not perfect, and I fail all the time. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16. Jesus died for our sins. Yours and mine. So just remember this verse, and post it somewhere you can see it everyday.
